Searsucker, the award-winning restaurant from Brian Malarkey, “Top Chef” finalist and judge on ABC’s new 2013 series “The Taste,” has opened in Old Town Scottsdale.

The brainchild of Enlightened Hospitality Group founders Brian Malarkey and nightlife visionary James Brennan, Searsucker will serve up “New American Classic” cuisine with an emphasis on approachable, unpretentious dishes. After opening Searsucker in 2010 in San Diego, Malarkey received so many requests from patrons from the metro Phoenix area that he felt Scottsdale was the most natural fit for his first-ever brand expansion.

“We have something for everyone – food that’s great quality but isn’t too pretentious, impeccably crafted cocktails and an energy and ambience that is unique to Searsucker,” said Executive Chef and Partner Brian Malarkey. “This isn’t the type of venue where your server circles like a hawk in hopes of turning tables around faster. We encourage you to ‘camp’ out – come in for the cuisine and stay late for everything else.”

Searsucker also boasts an extensive cocktail menu designed by Pick & Rocks Cocktails, a San Diego-based team of master mixologists. A trifecta team of professionals, mixologists Lucien Conner, Ian Ward and Jen Queen refer to their craft as “culinary mixology,” reinterpreting culinary ingredients in unique and unusual ways to create delightful cocktails that pair perfectly with Malarkey’s bold dishes.

“While the food is the heart and soul of Searsucker, we utilized every resource imaginable to create a true, unmatched dining destination in Scottsdale,” said Malarkey. “From the dishes to design, it’s evident in everything we do.”
