Restaurant of the Week: Grassroots Kitchen

The name is inspired by the desire to be community driven with dishes made from as many fresh ingredients from local farmers as possible. This country chic restaurant is a cozy setting for a night out at its new location at the Town and Country Shopping Center at 20th and Camelback.

The cocktail menu offered several options with my favorites being the pink cougar, served with a sugared grapefruit candy, and the Georgia iced tea. A full bar, beer and wine menu were also offered. Our favorite meal starters included prosciutto wrapped asparagus, farmer’s vegetable chopped salad and 85259 creamy burrata with tomato jam.

For the main course we tried the nightly special of grilled swordfish with asparagus, and the Carolina baby back ribs with barbeque sauce. We also tried their jalapeno and cheddar grits, which were delicious with a kick.

To finish the meal we indulged in a chocolate toffee brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. The meal was a perfect full spectrum of flavor satisfying all flavors and cravings. We left full and happy and looking forward to going back again soon.
