The Waste Management Phoenix Open has always been a party and this year is no exception. While dressing in party mode may seem like the natural choice, we can’t forget that the greatest party on grass is technically still a golf tournament and you want to dress for comfort and style. The most important part of dressing for The Phoenix Open, though? Layers, layers, layers.

We turned to fashion guru and Marketing Director for Scottsdale Quarter, Alison Goodman, for some advice on what to wear to the Phoenix Open this year. Here are looks Goodman recommends:

Look 1: GAP

GAP is known for its basics, but this look is anything but. Yellow and gray are one of my favorite color combinations to begin with, and the varying tones of gray keep it interesting. Sweatshirts are still having a big moment and by pairing one with skinny jeans in a darker hue, the overall ensemble stays sleek. Preppy girls, this look is for you.

Look 2: Urban Outfitters

Urban Outfitters is known for its bohemian, casual and accessible pieces and this look is right on par (ha ha). This printed top is loose-fitting, but still cozy and when paired with shorts and sweet ballet flats, it’s quite literally the perfect outfit for daytime at The Phoenix Open. And of course, a cross-body bag is essential with a capital E.

Look 3: Planet Blue

Speaking of bohemian looks: Planet Blue, one of our newest stores, is the ultimate place to find boho chic and if you count Nicole Richie or Kate Bosworth among your style icons, this is a must-stop shop. This tunic is perfect for The Phoenix Open – while it’s not formfitting, its short length will show off your legs. I’d pair it with metallic gladiator sandals and your favorite pair of aviator sunnies.

Looks 4 and 5: Forever 21

Preppy meets trendy when you’re shopping Forever 21. For the girls who are “jeans only” when it comes to the Open, a distressed pair of boyfriend jeans is a great option. I love the striped shirt underneath a letterman’s-inspired sweatshirt cardigan – perfect for daytime. For the girls who want to skew a little sexier, a formfitting dress in classic polka dot print stays sweet when paired with a shrunken denim jacket.
