One of the things I love so much about Arizona is how we really have it all – with just a short drive you can be skiing in the mountains or spending a weekend at the beach. With Arizona being such a road-trip friendly place, having a the ideal road trip vehicle is key to taking advantage of these opportunities. The Lexus RX 450h has everything you need for a safe and comfortable drive to wherever your weekend adventures take you!
Here are some of the key features of the 2016 Lexus RX 450h that we found to be extremely useful for a road trip:
1. Space! There is plenty of space in the back of this SUV, which is a must for me! I tend to pack enough for a month for a 2-day road trip (I need to have options!! lol). Also, the touch-free open/close rear door feature was a nice bonus, making it really easy to get stuff in and out of the back.
2. Heads-Up Display – this is what Lexus calls the key information that displays on the windshield, so you never have to take your eyes off the road! I am notorious for speeding, especially on long drives, and I have always complained that it is distracting to have to keep looking down at my speedometer. This solves that problem by putting my speed right in front me. PLUS it notifies you when the speed limit has changed.
3. Dynamic Radar Cruise Control – To avoid speeding tickets, since I apparently have a lead foot, I like to set the cruise control when I am on the major highways. But sometimes when you set the cruise control, you can get a little too comfortable. So I loved that the Lexus RX 450h had an auto-brake option when the cruise control was on. If my car got within a certain distance from the car in front me, the car would automatically slow down. This kept my car a safe distance from other cars at all times, regardless of what speed my cruise control was set at.
4. Panoramic View Monitor – My mom joined me on the drive to Malibu and she is the worst backseat driver. She must envision me driving alone like it’s a game of bumper cars since she thinks I am going to run into pretty much everything. Which is why I loved the panoramic view monitor feature on the Lexus RX 450h. She could clearly see I wasn’t going to back into anyone and that I was parked perfectly within the lines.
