Restaurant of the Week: Tommy Bahama

Tommy Bahama, newly remodeled in Kierland Commons in Scottsdale, focuses on incredible food and artisan cocktails.

When you first enter the patio, you feel as though you are at a luxury resort and it’s easy to “Make Life One Long Weekend” as you enjoy a cocktail and appetizers on their lively patio with a gorgeous fire pit.

Our favorite appetizers are the Crab Cakes With Coconut Crust and their World Famous Coconut Shrimp. Both pair perfectly with the Pineapple Yuzu Mojito, handcrafted by their rumologist.

Continue your dining experience by heading upstairs to the second-story lanai-style dining room to see sweeping sunset views. Our favorite dishes include the Parmesan Crusted Sanibel Chicken with Herb Cheese, Red Pepper Cream Sauce, Caulifower-PotatoMash, and Broccolini as well as the Caribbean Rubbed Mahi Mahi with Quinoa Succotash and Meyer Lemon Vinaigrette.

Tommy Bahama’s proudly shares most of their recipes in their cookbooks (available at their retail store). Their new cookbook, “Flavors of the Southern Coast,” has some must try dishes including the Jerk Pork Tenderloin with Pineapple Rum Sauce and the Sweet Potato Mofongo. Once you try the Mofongo recipe, you will never go back to making plain old sweet potatoes at home!

Do yourself a favor and don’t leave before indulging in desert! Their signature Key Lime Pie (also featured in the new cookbook) is perfectly paired with their Brandy Milk Punch.
