Joe’s Midnight Run Brunch

Joe’s Midnight Run on Central Avenue in Phoenix has quickly become known as a go-to spot for late-night eats, but has an excellent brunch menu as well.

Built on 90’s hip-hop and a casual vibe, Joe’s Midnight Run is the reincarnation of Joe’s Liquor – a 7th Street staple for decades. Originally purchased with the idea of tearing it down and building a restaurant, owner Rick Cordova fell in love with the building and decided to keep it standing, building the restaurant inside the existing structure. The result is a uniquely cool vibe. The visual atmosphere being a mix of retro and modern and the aural experience bringing you back to the days of West Coast vs. East Coast.

In the year or so since opening, Joe’s has built a reputation as an ideal spot for a late-night nightcap and scratch food from Executive Chef Michael Goldsmith’s kitchen. They also open early on the weekends to serve brunch.

Shakshuka is a hearty Mediterranean dish with eggs, zucchini and tomatoes. If you’re hungover, this dish will be the ideal choice to bring you back to life. The Chicken and Waffle is not your standard version of the popular dish. The fried chicken is done jerk-style with mango and is a complex fusion of flavors. Other highlights are the Biscuits and Gravy and the Chorizo and Eggs with local chorizo and a chimichurri sauce.

The full beer and wine list is available during brunch and Joe’s offers $3 mimosas and $9 mimosa flights. They also have $5 bloody “joes” – Mary’s brother, apparently.

Brunch is served from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays and Joe’s is open until 2 a.m. seven days a week. They are located at 6101 North Seventh Street in Phoenix.
