Flamenco is known the world over for its passion and power. Ornate costumes and percussive beats enliven the senses and capture the heart, and they captured that of Valley native Julia Chacón. Raised in Phoenix, Chacón has spent her life dancing flamenco. She started dance at age three, flamenco at 12, finished college, moved to Spain and toured for over 10 years with international flamenco dance companies.
Her flamenco company, Inspiración Flamenca (Inspiration Flamenco in Spanish), will perform on August 28th at 8pm at the Scottsdale Center for Performing Arts as part of the Live & Local Fridays summer series. Live & Local Fridays radically departs from Scottsdale’s tradition by presenting local talent on the Center’s stage.

The show is $10, but for $15, Localists and the public alike are invited to take part in an exclusive pre-show talk and backstage tour of as part of a performance package to experience Inspiración Flamenca.
