Fabulous People: Kimberly Nicole Scharffbillig

Kimberly Nicole Scharffbillig is a Licensed Aesthetician, and Founder of Skinapeel Beauty, LLC at Gainey Ranch. Kimberly has a true passion for skin care and it shows in her work. She believes in a holistic approach to great skin, advising her clients on not only what they put ON their skin, but in their bodies. Learn more about Kimberly:

Hometown: Seattle, WA

First job: I worked at the front desk of my dance studio in Woodinville, WA as a receptionist. It was a quick stint, but good experience in working with the clients and handling day to day business needs.

Favorite AZ restaurant: There are so many to choose from! I grew up vacationing here, and love that Phoenix has such an amazing variety of great food. I feel like my most consistent happy places are The Herb Box, True Food and Flower Child. Everything is just so fresh and delicious, and I feel good when I leave too!

Person who has impacted your life the most: My dad. I’m definitely my father’s daughter, and it’s been his words and advice that I’ve listened to the most throughout my life.

Your biggest accomplishment in your eyes: Professionally, I would have to say that taking that leap of faith to open up my own business has been a huge accomplishment has been a dream come true. My friends and family are extremely important to me though, so finding balance and making sure I’m being the best wife, friend, daughter, sister and auntie I can be is also something I take pride in.

The biggest obstacle you have overcome: I would have to say the biggest challenge has also been the most rewarding opportunity. Leaving my stability and job and starting over as an Esthetician and business owner is something I never thought I would do. It was a long road to get here and I’ll still face challenges as I progress. But the reward has been making a difference in my clients’ lives and has made everything worth it!

Someone who inspires you: I am fortunate to have had several people over the years who have inspired me. I’ve learned a lot from these people and think about the things I’ve learned to get me through even the toughest days. More recently in my life, I would say Louisa Alten, who is also a mentor for many of my colleagues in the Esthetics industry. She is passionate about educating and empowering other skin care professionals to be the best they can be. She cares about everyone, is always there when you need her, and shares her wealth of knowledge and wisdom selflessly. She has helped me get to where I am today in my ability to heal skin, and I am truly grateful to have her in my life.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Ride the wave and stay educated. There are ebbs and flows of clients and money, and here in Arizona we have to just know that summers are slow and to prepare for that. It’s a very challenging, ever-evolving, competitive industry so just be you and let your passion for others show!

What makes someone fabulous: The most fabulous people I know are those who are genuine, humble, kind and compassionate. Those who are beautiful inside and let that shine through are pretty fabulous to me!
