First fashion job: I have never worked in a fashion related job until I began designing jewelry.

When did you know you had a passion for fashion? I never had an interest in fashion until about four years ago. As a matter of fact, I can remember my mom always laying out a week’s worth of outfits for me to go to school or work (until age 22 lol) because I was terrible at co-ordinating them. It wasn’t until I sat down and started to create my first piece of jewelry that I discovered my passion.

Person who has impacted your life the most: I would have to say my 15 year old daughter (Logan) has had the biggest impact on my life. She literally makes me laugh every day. It’s easy for me to get wrapped up in the every day stress of life, being self-employed and a single mom. She has such a zest for life and carefree nature. She is a constant reminder to me not to take life too seriously and to take the time to slow down and make memories.

Your biggest fashion accomplishment in your eyes: I would have to say that it’s having been chosen to participate in Phoenix Fashion Week Emerging Designer Program. I have only been designing jewelry on a part time basis so far. To have the team of PFW recognize me as an artist and have their confidence and support in me means the world to me.

The biggest obstacle you have overcome: Making jewelry started out as a hobby. Realizing that this makes me so happy, being able to turn it into a business and have a career doing something I absolutely love every day.

A Designer who inspires you: Coco Chanel. Her designs were classic and timeless.

Favorite quote: “Be with the boy who ruins your lipstick not your mascara.”

Advice to someone pursuing a career in fashion as a designer: Be prepared to get told “no” a lot. Pick yourself up, brush it off and get right back at it.

Favorite piece you have ever designed:
