Hometown: Marshall, Texas

First job: My first job was a sales position at a very small Boutique called Gemini Honeycomb in Marshall, Texas. It allowed me to have an income so I could buy my own clothes and dress as I liked. I eventually became the manager and got to go to Dallas World Trade Market to shop for our new lines. I loved working there! Steve and June were the owners and I was their only employee. We shared many unforgettable experiences together.

Favorite AZ restaurant: I have so many favorites ~ which makes this is a hard question. I love Montelucia’s Prado because Chef Cairns’ cooking is to die for, it’s so yummy and it’s walking distance to my house. I love Tarbell’s because his food makes you turn into a food snob. I admit it… I want to lick the plate my food was served on. Flemings Restaurant in Scottsdale because I love a good steak and no one does it better than Flemings! The manager, Darrel is from the South and he is so entertaining, he’s the icing on the cake.
Also, I love Elements at the Sanctuary because of Chef Beau… the food if Fabulous but the View is Amazing!!!

Person who has impacted your life the most: My Mom and My Husband… both are wildly influential. I always like to say If it wasn’t for the tough times I went through I wouldn’t be the strong woman I am and I credit my mom for that. My husband has been my counterpart and co partner in everything we do – we make a great team! I love him for many reasons, but his Zest for life and living it in the best quality life has to offer is my favorite. Plus I admire to him in many different facets. We are both writing a book which will come out soon! I know I could have never done this without him, nor the many other things I’ve accomplished wouldn’t have come to fruition without him. He’s my soul mate and I love him dearly!

Your biggest accomplishment in your eyes: Making Sleep America successful enough to sell it. I started from very humble beginnings. I had to support myself and my daughter as a single parent. In my 30’s I partnered with my husband and we worked hard but built a great company.

The biggest obstacle you have overcome: Making Sleep America become profitable.

Someone who inspires you: My husband inspires and coaches me everyday to be the best I can be!

Favorite quote: The Golden Rule: Do unto other’s as you would want them to do unto you.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: My advice is to follow your heart and love what you’re doing ~ Then it doesn’t seem like work. Be the best you can be in any situation. Be kind to people and build a good network of friends. Time is definitely something we need more of, so use it wisely. Follow your heart and intuition and if you are true to yourself you will always be happy!

What makes someone fabulous? Living life with gratitude and being authentic in everything you do makes someone fabulous. If you can look into a mirror and like the person you are, then you must be fabulous!
