Arizona has some great wineries across the state. Check out some of these local wineries for a delicious wine tasting trip.

Alcantara Vineyards (Verde Valley)

Alcantara Vineyards, the first winery on the Verde River, is one of the largest vineyards in Central and Northern Arizona. The Alcantara Vineyards have over 13,000 vines and offers 12 different varietal’s.

If you live in the Phoenix area, it is only a two hour drive to Alcantara, making it an ideal day trip for some wine tasting.

The tasting room is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The tasting fee is $10.00 per person, which includes a souvenir wine glass to take home. Regular Winery tours are on Friday and Saturday at 11:30 a.m.

Sonoita Vineyards (Elgin)

Sonoita Vineyards is the oldest commercial vineyard and winery in Arizona. Sonoita Vineyards opened in 1983 and now includes over 25 acres of vines. The unique growing conditions of the Sonoita Appellation allow the vineyard to consistently create award winning wines, including a Cabernet Sauvignon chosen by national wine critics to serve at a Presidential Inauguration Gala. The vineyard is at an elevation of 5,000 feet and is surrounded on three sides by mountain ranges. The varieties grown currently at Sonoita Vinyards include Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese and Mission.

Wine-tasting is available daily at Sonoita Vineyards from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. except on holidays. The cost of the wine tasting is $5 per person, which includes a souvenir glass. The wine tasting cost is waived if you purchase a bottle of wine.

Granite Creek Vineyards (Chino Valley)

Granite Creek Vineyards is a family owned and operated vineyard and winery in Chino Valley that was established in 1974 by the Hoult Family on a historic farmstead. They were the first farm in Arizona to be Certified Organic and have won multiple awards for their wines. Granite Creek Vineyards today is one of only a handfull of wineries in the United States that makes 100% Certified Organic Wines without any added sulfites.

Granite Creek Vineyards are open Friday, Saturday, Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wine tasting is $8 per person.

Javelina Leap Vineyards & Winery (Page Springs)

Javelina Leap is a 10 acre estate vineyard with a fully equipped winery and tasting room. Owners Rod and Cynthia Snapp make superlative handcrafted wine one ton at a time, with extreme care and attention to the smallest of details. Javelina Leap is located in Page Springs, just minutes outside of Sedona, Arizona. The tasting room, winery & vineyard are located on the slopes of a volcanic mountain, overlooking the lush greenbelt of Oak Creek.

The tasting room is open 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. Wine tasting costs is $8 – $12.

Coronado Vineyards (Wilcox)

Coronado Vineyards, located in the Coronado National Forest, produces some of Arizona’s finest wines. With elevations reaching over 4,000 ft, Arizona’s high desert is the perfect location for producing grapes of distinct quality and character. Warm summer days, cool nights, and mineral rich soils contribute to the intensity and wide range of flavors in these fine wines.

Page Springs Cellars – Winery & Vineyard (Cornville)

Page Springs Cellars is a family owned winery and vineyard tucked into the volcanic landscape overlooking pristine Oak Creek. Visit the Page Springs Cellar Tasting Room just 15 minutes south of Sedona.

Page Springs Cellars is open Sunday – Thursday 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wine tastings are $10 per person.
