What to Wear to Spring Training

The 80 degree temperatures are already upon us and one of our favorite times of the year is here – Spring Training! You want to look good and be comfortable at the games, so stylist Risa Kostis of RISTYLE Consulting has put together a few looks that will ensure you knock it out of the park.

Even though the weather is warming up, it’s still important to protect ourselves from the sun and prepare for the unpredictable spring weather in Arizona. This sweater takes us back to the old school days with a vintage varsity flair and since it’s more covered on top, Risa loves it with cut off jean shorts. Throw on your favorite tennis shoes and your favorite pair of sunglasses to finish off the look.

Who says shorts have to be boring? Pair a neutral tank and delicate layered jewelry with metallic shorts to stand out in the crowd but still look sporty. It’s all about elevated track shorts and comfortable tanks for a day in the sun, followed up by a night out with friends.

We had to have a little team spirit of course. Show your support with a retro team hat and pair it with a neutral tee (yes, Risa considers camo neutral) and instead of jeans or shorts – a denim skirt for a feminine twist. If you’re stuck in a shady stadium seat or need to cover up a little more, tie a button down or sweatshirt around your waist so you’re ready to go.

If you haven’t seen the movie The Sandlot… perhaps you should rethink your true love of baseball. Risa loved the movie reference in this baseball tee paired with rolled relaxed denim and a slip-on shoe. Grab your team hat or sunglasses and you’re good to go.

Look 5
If this shirt doesn’t make you want to grab a cold drink and rally your favorite group of friends, we don’t know what will. Risa loves Reyn Spooner shirts for a comfortable and Arizona-appropriate look. Instead of jeans, try your favorite pair of chinos and worn-in kicks to complete this easy and casual look.

Taking your little one to their first spring training game? Risa couldn’t resist showing a look for your favorite mini sports fan. It’s important to keep them shielded from the sun, so Risa loves a fedora mixed with a little hipster ensemble with these jeans, t-shirt and sneakers. Another movie reference was just inevitable – who doesn’t love Tom Hanks and his famous rants from A League of Their Own?! Batter up!
