Restaurant of the Week: Grand Blue

Grand Blue, located near Scottsdale Rd and Shea, is a fresh seafood market as well as a high-energy bistro serving a progressive menu from the Pacific Islands, Americas, Latin Europe and the Levant, and Northern Europe.

We immediately loved the bright, hip vibe of the restaurant when we walked in. There is bar seating as well lots of patio seating, which is our favorite this time of year! Upscale seafood in a very approachable atmosphere is how we would best describe what to expect at Grand Blue.

The fresh seafood options are ever-changing based on availability, seasonality and, whenever possible, sustainability. It is a vast menu with some options we found to be quite unique in a very good way.

From the “Plates” options, we recommend the grand blue crab cake, tuna tartar or beluga lentils. All incredibly tasty and great portions.

The “Sea Specials” include sushi, a raw bar, ceviche and shrimp and chips to name a few. There is also the Custom Blue Zone, in which you choose the fish, the preparation style and the sauce.

While the majority of the menu is seafood, there are a few “turf” options including a sirloin baseball cut, garlic chicken sandwich and chicken tenders. There is a kids menu as well that includes fish and chicken tenders option – something for everyone!

For dessert, we highly recommend the matcha panna cotta with sesame brittle. You won’t be able to stop eating it until it’s gone.

Grand Blue is open 11am to 10pm 7 days a week, with Happy Hour 3:00 – 6:00pm Mon – Thurs and 3:00 – 5:00pm Fri – Sun.
