Best Parks Across the Valley

Congratulations, we have survived yet another summer! And if you are a parent, this means outdoor play weather is soon approaching. We have a round-up of some of the best parks in the valley, so when the nice weather hits, you will know where to go.

Mesa Riverview Park

Mesa Riverview Park, the new home of the Chicago Cubs Spring Training. This park has something for everyone from a fishing lake, walking paths, splash pad, mesh rope climbing structures, 2 playgrounds, one of which is shaded. The park also has shaded picnic areas with tables, display fountains, open grassy areas and restrooms. Our favorite feature of this park includes the shaded play structure, and the fenced in splash pad area with benches and seating for parents.

Tumbleweed Recreation Park

Tumbleweed Recreation Park located in Chandler is a mega park in the East Valley. The Playtopia playground has several play structure areas with their own theme: Farm Land, City Land and Critter Land. Our favorite features of this park include the shaded play areas, acres of open space to play, a giant sand box to dig for dinosaur bones, and endless hours of fun promised each visit. The park also has covered ramadas with picnic tables, grills, restrooms, and miles of walking trails.

McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park

McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park in Scottsdale is every train lover’s dream, but also a fun park for everyone! With a train to ride around the park, a railroad museum, and a full size locomotive you can walk on. The park also has covered ramada and picnic areas. Our favorite feature of this park is the train to ride, and the museum with miniature trains and model towns.

Glendale Heroes Regional Park

Glendale Heroes Regional Park in Glendale is a fun recreational hub, with some special features that other parks don’t have. The park includes an X-Court for skateboarding, in-line, and BMX, splash pad, playgrounds for multiple ages and levels, multiple sports courts, and ramadas for picnics. The archery range is one of a kind feature with sixteen lanes, six of which have targets.

Scottsdale Ranch Park

Scottsdale Ranch Park located in North Scottsdale is a sports haven for everyone. With tennis courts, racquetball courts, squash courts, sand volleyball, basketball courts and baseball fields. If exercising at parks is more your speed, there is also a 12-station exercise course. As well as a playground for the kiddos, restrooms and a desert garden.
