Makeup Tips for the Phoenix Open

The 2020 Waste Management Phoenix Open is January 27 – February 2. Now that you know what to wear to the Phoenix Open, The Sparkle Bar is sharing with us some makeup trends and tips to make sure your makeup lasts from the first mimosa to your last cocktail and for all the pictures in between.

Hanging out at the golf tournament is an all-day affair and if your day includes the Birds Nest, then we could be talking about 12-16 hours. DO use a primer and setting spray so your makeup application lasts. The Sparkle Bar recommends the Priming and Setting Spray by Skindinavia (you can pick this up at The Sparkle Bar studio in Old Town Scottsdale).

Skip The Shimmers. Stick with Matte Shadows for an outside daytime look; kick it up for evening if you’ll be attending events into the night by adding a pop of color to the inner corner of your eyes. (Or pop into the sparkle bar for a quick blush rush, an express makeup touch that revives the makeup you already have on.)

Do Use an Eye Primer. An eye primer is going to keep eyeshadow from creasing and getting into fine lines. The Sparkle Bar loves Mac Pro Longewear Paint Pots.

The perfect day to night transition should be simple and quick. Stick to a nude lip during the day, it’s easy to reapply without a mirror. Headed to the birds nest at night? Blot off that nude lip, line with a deeper lip liner and grab your favorite medium to deep lip color and get bold.

Waterproof Mascara is your friend, it’s going to be warm outside so make sure you use it to avoid any chance of smearing.

When dealing with shine, use oil blotting papers throughout the day instead of adding more powder. Never rub the shine off because you will wipe away foundation. If you’re in a pinch and forget your blotting papers head to the restroom, those toilet seat liners are made of rice paper- blot in the ladies room and you’ll be all set for another round.

Don’t forget to bring:

    • Q-tip to wipe rogue mascara, eyeliner, anything
    • Eye drops – red eyes are not cute eyes…
    • Safety pin & extra hair tie – trust us, you can do anything with a safety pin and you will save the day with that hair tie. Bet.
  • Eyelash glue – if you’re one to rock falsies, get it girl. Just make sure it’s on and bring extra glue because there’s nothing worse than a flappy lash.

We hope these tips help you keep your gorgeous face on par all day and night but.
