Enjoy Free Park Entrance to Lake Powell

In honor of National Public Lands Day, Lake Powell, located within the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, will offer free park entrance to all visitors on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Lake Powell is a 4.5-hour drive from Phoenix, making it an ideal, socially distanced weekend getaway to kick off fall break.

Lake Powell is America’s second largest man-made reservoir offering nearly 2,000 miles of shoreline, 96 major side canyons, sapphire blue water and towering red sandstone cliffs, buttes and sandy beaches. Outdoor activities ranging from kayaking and paddle boarding to wakeboarding and waterskiing are abundant. (Rentals are available at Wahweap Marina.) Lake Powell’s Rainbow Bridge National Monument—one of the largest known National Arches in the world—is a bucket-list item for many visitors.

The last opportunity in 2020 for free park entrance will take place Nov. 11, in celebration of Veteran’s Day.
