Callaghan Vineyards
Since offering its first vintage in 1991, 25-acre Callaghan Vineyards has received dozens of honors and distinctions–including the fact that it’s been served at the White House on four occasions. Mediterranean and Spanish varietals are the building blocks for Callaghan’s red blends, while Viognier and Riesling are blended for its estate white wine. To give it a try, the Elgin winery hosts tastings Thursday to Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., both inside or outside (you can even bring a picnic along!)
