A Romantic Retreat at Amara Resort and Spa

Romance comes easy at Amara Resort and Spa in Sedona. Voted the No. 1 destination for couples in 2021 by Wedding Wire, the luxury destination serves as the ultimate romantic getaway for two, offering love birds decadent bites at its signature restaurant, a specialty stay package and a place to cozy up just in time for the cooler season.

Located among the red rocks in Sedona is Amara Resort and Spa, a luxurious vacation destination just outside of Oak Creek Canyon. After finishing a massive, million-dollar renovation just last year, Amara offers a sophisticated cabinlike feel, featuring an organic design with wood elements, warm tones and stone accents to complement its natural surroundings.

Each guest space at Amara Resort and Spa offers a modern yet cozy design, featuring a neutral color palette, soft linens and a relaxing patio overlooking the stunning Sedona red rocks. When guests aren’t cozying up in their suite or soaking up the view from their private terrace, they can enjoy an abundance of romantic amenities, like a spa day for two at Amara Spa.

New with the recent renovation, Amara Spa offers everything needed for the ultimate relaxation, from therapeutic massages to custom facials and detoxes––and luckily for couples, each spa treatment can be enjoyed with your partner in a special couple’s room for no additional charge. Some services we recommend with your significant other include The Rain Dance, a signature massage treatment incorporating lavender, rosemary and sage essential oils on the spine that concludes with a warm oil scalp massage; or the Moon Chasing Sun, a facial experience that begins with aromatic inhalation and body compression with warm towels, followed by a facial massage with warm stones, a skin treatment and scalp massage.

A trip to SaltRock Southwest Kitchen is a must for an intimate dinner, with a menu curated by Chef David Duncan and an award-winning cocktail program courtesy of Ardian Dulaku. The fare lineup blends modern, seasonal ingredients with traditional Southwest techniques for the ultimate plate, while the cocktail menu focuses on providing a program that pairs beautifully with the panoramic red rock and changing seasons. Some current signature sips include a festive, holiday-inspired lineup featuring the Bourbon Farm, with Copper City Bourbon, sweet potato and fig reduction, lemon, egg white and walnut bitters; Love n’ Oats with Tequila Reposado, dark rum, chai, oat milk and coconut cream; and the Abuela’s Ponche, crafted with chamomile, Reposado tequila, cinnamon, cloves, apples, guava, hibiscus, dried citrus, lime and honey. If you are visiting during the cooler months, be sure to sit outside and cozy up by the fireplace on the restaurant’s expansive patio.
