Spring Skiing and Stargazing in Flagstaff

Now through March 31, powder buffs can head to Snowbowl to enjoy the World’s Best Spring Break with lift tickets starting as low as $29 when you buy early. All adult tickets include a $10 resort credit (for same-day use) and the option to add on a free first-time beginner lesson for ages 13-plus. (Save up to 40 percent on midweek rentals and group lessons, valid Monday to Friday, non-holiday dates. Limited $29 tickets are available.) And be sure to bring the kids, as those 12 and younger ski free. With such killer prices and gorgeous spring weather, even novice skiers can feel comfortable hitting the slopes for the first time during their Arizona spring break. Après-ski, show your Snowbowl season pass at Historic Brewing Company, Lumberyard Brewing and Beaver Street Brewery, among other Flag faves, and enjoy discounts and offers.

Did you know that Flagstaff was is the world’s first International Dark Sky City? Pretty cool, right? A prime spot to savor those starry skies is at Lowell Observatory (Lowell’s founder Percival Lowell discovered Pluto!). Visit the Mars Hill campus in the evening to stargaze, take a peek through world-famous, cutting-edge telescopes and even book a tour for an awe-inspiring experience for the whole family. Plus, Lowell’s 20-minute Science Talks are included in general admission.
