Cinco de Mayo this year falls on a Saturday, which makes it an even better day to celebrate! We rounded up some of the best Cinco de Mayo parties happening this year in the Phoenix and Scottsdale areas.
Cinco de Mario
Join Mario Lopez, Danny Trejo and Frankie Quinones at for Cinco de Mario on Saturday, May 5, 2018 11am – 6pm at Scottsdale Civic Center Plaza. Blending event elements inspired by Cinco de Mayo, the Kentucky Derby, and Lopez’ penchant for having fun, this experiential festival at Scottsdale Civic Center Plaza will include something for everyone. From the Valley’s top taco trucks and bars featuring top-shelf margaritas, to a craft-focused kid’s zone and strolling mariachi bands, this festival is a new kind of Cinco celebration that invites everybody to enjoy a day out in the AZ sunshine. Cinco de Mayo Phoenix Festival
Celebrating its 25th year, Cinco de Mayo Phoenix Festival returns to downtown Phoenix on Sunday, May 6th, noon to 10pm. A block party at 1st Avenue & Washington, the event features live music, food, games, a kids area, and a VIP experience with Grammy award-winning artists. Cinco De Mayo Block Party on Mill Ave
El Hefe and Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row have teamed up to throw a massive party in Tempe between both bars in celebration of Cinco de Mayo. Local DJ’s will be spinning top 40, house and hip hop and both locations will be decked out in décor with surprises for its guests. There will be drink specials with Dos XX and Hornitos Tequila. A water pong tournament with a $1,000 cash prize.
Barrio Queen
On May 5th, Barrio Queen celebrates Cinco de Mayo and their 6 Year Anniversary at its Scottsdale, Gilbert and North Phoenix locations. Guests can celebrate from 11am to 11pm at all three locations with drink specials and entertainment from open to close. Live music by Mariachi Bands and DJ Veto fills the air as attendees show off their party spirit by taking selfies with life-sized Luchadores and taking a swing at a piñata. Fun giveaways round out the day for family fun with the kids and then geared for adults at night.
Sandbar
Celebrate with Sandbar Chandler and Sandbar Desert Ridge on Cinco de Mayo with tequila, tacos, Mexican beer and margaritas all day on May 5 (11am – 2am). Sandbar Chandler will feature performances by the Hourglass Cats, the Black Moods and DJ Jeff Metcalf while Sandbar Desert Ridge hosts Sassy & the Sneak Attack, Elvis Before Noon and DJ Pulse. Join in the fun and enjoy delicious dishes like Ancho Chile Mahi Tacos. Pair fresh Mexican cuisine with a frozen margarita mixed with Sauza Blue 100 percent Agave Tequila, DeKuyper Triple Sec and Sandbar’s award-winning margarita mix or signature cocktails like the Clooney Paloma. In addition to delicious bites and live music, both Valley Sandbar Mexican Grill locations will be collecting canned food on Cinco de Mayo to donate to local food banks. For every can donated on Cinco de Mayo, Sandbar will match with a $1 donation to a local food bank to help get through the long, hot summer ahead.
Old Town Gringos
Guests are invited to Old Town Gringos for a Cinco de Mayo bash on Saturday, May 5th from 11am-close. The restaurant will offer $5 Pacifico and Modelo Especial drafts and $6 OTG house margaritas featuring Jose Cuervo Tradicional in addition to onsite giveaways and live music all day long from the Josh Roy Band and DJ Tranzl8r. Themed food items will be available including the Mamas and Papas Nachos. Admission is free, food and drinks are available for purchase.
CRUjiente Tacos
CRUjiente Tacos will serve Premier Cru Margaritas all day for just $5 and have special extended hours on Cinco De Mayo. They will be open from noon to 11pm for lunch, happy hour, dinner and late-night happy hour. Happy hour will be 3-6pm and late-night happy hour will be available from 9pm to 11pm. Happy hour specials include the award-winning Korean Fried Chicken Taco for just $3.50 and the Tacos Crujientes for just $5.
Blanco Tacos + Tequila
This Cinco de Mayo, señores and señoritas looking for a fiesta need look no further than Blanco Tacos + Tequila. The restaurant will party like there’s no mañana, offering all-day specials at both Biltmore Fashion Park and The Borgata. Guests are invited to enjoy $5 Azunia shots, $6 Azunia Classic Margaritas, and $20 buckets of Modelo. Themed props for photos, an Azunia swag giveaway, and an ice luge at both locations will provide an added element of fiesta fun.
Cinco de Sausage
Brat Haus in Old Town Scottsdale will host “Cinco de Sausage” on Saturday, May 5th from 11am to 11pm. All-day food specials will include the Al Pastor Sausage with Charred Pineapple Mint salsa for $12, Pork Chorizo Verde Sausage with Blackened Shrimp for $14 and the Mexican Street Corn with Haus hot sauce, cotija, cilantro and lime for $6. Celebrate happy hour all day with $7 Mexican mule drinks and New Belgium’s brand new Mural Agua Fresca Cerveza on tap for $6 for a 10-ounce pour. Campo de Mayo
Camp Social hosts “Campo de Mayo” on Saturday, May 5, 2018, 10am – 2am, with drink specials courtesy of Casamigos Tequila, Jose Cuervo Tradicional, Modelo and Corona including. In addition to spirited libations, food specials include a variety of Chef Esteban Contreras’ famous tacos. Guests can choose from chicken, shrimp, octopus. The Campo de Mayo fiesta features live music until 8pm when the DJ turns up the heat on Camp at night until closing time. Admission is free; food & drinks will be available for purchase.
