Laura Madden, @iamlauramadden
When it comes to sustainable fashion, no one is as well-versed in the topic (or a greater advocate, for that matter) than Laura Madden. The model, stylist and blogger has garnered a reputation for being Arizona’s sustainable fashion “it girl”âoften sharing recycling tips, working exclusively with conscious brands and proving through her boho vibe that you don’t have to sacrifice style in order to be sustainable.

A fashion trend you’re currently obsessed with? What’s old is new. More people are recognizing and celebrating vintage and secondhand fashion as en vogue and it makes for the most stylish, unique looks (and so good for the planet).
Advice you would offer someone who’s trying to figure out their own personal style sense? Really pay attention to what puts a smile on your face and a little pep in your step. It might sound a little clichĂŠ but this is something that’s really helped me. Whatever makes you feel your best, most confident self is your true style.Â
One thing you’d like to see change (or rather, see more of) in Arizona’s fashion scene? I’d love to see more local and emerging designers becoming our go-tos. With so many options today, and online shopping so quick and convenient, it makes even more sense to shop as close to home as we can.Â
An Arizona-based fashion brand or designer that inspires you and why? Amanda Jacobs, Classic Reclaim: I have worked with Amanda on many occasions to upcycle old garments that I was no longer wearing into new, one-of-a-kind pieces that fit my style today (and probably will for a very long time). She is the epitome of everything I promote: the merging of style and sustainability. She truly is a designer after my heart, creating treasures out of what was once trash.Â
