Featured Comedian Q&A: Andrew Norelli

Andrew-NorelliComedian Andrew Norelli is performing June 15-16 at Stand Up, Scottsdale! Comedy Club. Check out Fab AZ’s exclusive interview with Andrew Norelli:

Q: Where are you from?
A: Danville, CA (outside of Oakland/Berkeley about 20 minutes)

Q: How long have you been doing comedy?
A: 14 years

Q: How was your first gig? Was it immediately gratifying, or did you bomb at first?
A: It was gratifying because there were 3 people in the audience and I think they were more scared than I was. Besides, I think you need a crowd of at least 6 to bomb.

Q: What can comedy goers expect from you at Stand-Up, Scottsdale! this weekend?
A: Sharp, original comedy that will make you laugh and make you enjoy the jokes long-term. You’ll remember and enjoy the jokes the next day, maybe even take them to bed with you. What you do at that point is your business.

Q: What is the source of inspiration for your comedy?
A: Life letting me down time and time again and me returning the favor to life

Q: How do you keep yourself busy while on tour/traveling/performing?
A: Youtube videos of Norwegian Black Metal and surfing (I realize those 2 are totally unrelated). I try not to watch Black Metal videos right before I go to bed. Doesn’t give you as good of dreams as surfing.

Q: What has been your memorable comedy milestones so far?
A: Appearances on Jimmy Kimmel’s show and Craig Ferguson’s. It’s fun to know you’ll have something to put on youtube that is slightly less fuzzy and slightly more audible that your other youtube videos.

Q: If you could receive a sext from one politician, one athlete, and one movie star, who would they be?
A: Selma Hayek cuz I feel there would be a lot of funny typos, Hillary Clinton because I would make her take a picture in a beige pants suit, but topless. And any female tennis player because I would make her phonetically spell all her grunts.

Q: If you could buy one thing for everybody in the country, what would it be?
A: My CD. Fortunately, for everyone, it’s only $15 and available after my show.

Q: What’s an interesting fact that people wouldn’t know about you?
A: I bench press 1,000 pounds so fast you don’t even see it happen.

Q: Where can people find more information about you? Anything coming up we should know about?
A: My Facebook is filled with vital information about which family members like me and which are ashamed of me.
