We admittedly hadn’t heard much about the Genesis G70 prior to test driving it. Genesis is the luxury vehicle division of the South Korean vehicle manufacturer Hyundai Motor Group. They offer just 3 models – G70, G80 and G90 – all luxury sedans. Having had little knowledge of the vehicle prior, we were very pleasantly surprised by the Genesis G70.
The body style is sexy and sporty, reminding us of the very expensive Jaguar body style. Starting at just $34,900, the Genesis G70 is a steal for the quality of performance, design and features. Here are some of our favorite features of the 2019 Genesis G70…
Performance
The standard engine in the Genesis G70 is a 2.0L turbocharged GDI 4-cylinder engine that goes from 0 to 60 in just 4.5 seconds (we test drove a model that had a V6 3.3t twin turbo engine). Combine that engine power with all-wheel drive and this is one of the smoothest and agile vehicles we have driven. It is the perfect combination of luxury and speed.
Interior Design
The interior offers a luxurious ride with leather seats that are both good looking and comfortable, with a unique diamond quilting pattern. You can get heated front and rear seats with available ventilated front seats. The ventilated front seats are practically a necessity in the Arizona summers, so we were happy to see this feature included.
Technology
In addition to having a Heads-up Display and a large touchscreen, the Genesis G70 also offers a Surround View Monitor. The G70’s Surrounded View Monitor gives you a full 360º view around the vehicle, keeping you aware of normally unseen surroundings, assisting with parking and helping you keep clear of external objects.
