Hassayampa Inn: Historic Boutique Hotel in Prescott

The Hassayampa Inn is a restored 1927 historic boutique hotel in the heart of the charming town of Prescott.

The hotel exudes classic character with antique finishes, a hand-painted lobby ceiling, etched glass, Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, and Italianate features. The 97-year-old vintage elevator is the last known staff-only-operated elevated in the United States, which adds to the genuinely historic charm of Hassayampa Inn. The inn transports you to the Roaring Twenties and is much like a living museum. Some of history’s most notable celebrities used to stay there, including Will Rogers, Greta Garbo, Clark Gable, and Steve McQueen.

When it comes to accommodations, old meets new in each of Hassayampa Inn’s hotel guestrooms. There is history in every corner of this hotel; however, you will still enjoy modern amenities in your room, such as flat-screen TVs, cable television, microwaves, refrigerators, hair dryers, irons and ironing boards, and in-room climate control. Guests can choose from standard rooms with a king or two queen beds or a spacious suite with a separate parlor room with a sleeper sofa. There is also a Jacuzzi suite available that features a large hot tub in which to relax.

To start your day while staying here, head downstairs to enjoy the lobby coffee shop, Territorial Cafe, where you can order coffee, tea, and hot chocolate from 6 to 11 a.m. The Peacock Dining Room is Hassayampa Inn’s signature restaurant, open seven days a week for brunch and dinner. This renowned Prescott restaurant underwent a complete restoration and now has an Art Deco aesthetic combined with antique touches. Dinner entrees include tender lamb shank, pan-seared Alaskan salmon, and on Friday and Saturday evenings, slow-roasted prime rib. The adjacent bar at the hotel, Glass Bar, serves happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. and hosts live music seven nights a week.

In addition to being an absolutely charming place to stay with great onsite dining, Hassayampa Inn is within walking distance of everything in Downtown Prescott. Rich in history, Prescott is known for its world-famous Whiskey Row, a block of saloons in the heart of the town, and historical landmarks. At an elevation of 5,200 feet, Prescott offers cooler temps than the Phoenix area and four seasons, making this a very walkable town nearly year-round. Explore the enchanting shops, bars, and restaurants, which are truly one-of-a-kind.
