Hotel Valley Ho has revealed its largest room renovation since its opening in 1956. The iconic mid-century modern Downtown Scottsdale hotel’s $18-million room refresh was helmed by Mendil + Meyer Design Studio, creating a intriguing blend of vintage charm and modern design with a color palette that pays homage to Arizona’s cotton-candy sunsets.

Since the 1950’s, Scottsdale-based Hotel Valley Ho has been a favorite of both locals and visitors alike (celebrity guests have ranged from Bing Crosby to Katy Perry) for its chic, mid-century modern accommodations, a see-and-be-seen pool scene, and exceptional dining at ZuZu. Its recently completely $18-million room renovation drew inspiration from Hotel Valley Ho’s heritage, bringing together classic elements with contemporary style, and with sustainability as a foremost priority.
“This stylish transformation marks an exciting milestone for Hotel Valley Ho,” says Ronen Aviram, vice president and general manager, in a press release. “Our approach was to respect the history of the hotel while infusing it with a fresh, modern perspective that embraces the needs of travelers today and the Old Town Scottsdale lifestyle, all while remaining as iconic as when our doors first opened. We look forward to ushering in this new chapter with the local community, our treasured guests and future visitors.”

Across all of the refreshed rooms, a calming color palette of soft pinks and blues are reminiscent of Arizona’s pastel sunsets, as well as pops of greenery, dark tones, and neutral accents. Custom artwork by Scottsdale-based artist Djamila Fierek deck the walls, alongside ceramic wall planters. Both rooms and suites features walnut wood open closets, custom terrazzo countertops, and pill-shaped vanity mirrors. The renovated bathrooms feature sleek concrete terrazzo vanities, a high-tech Lutron system, and, in some rooms, floating tubs. For soaking up the Valley’s beautiful weather and for a dose of fresh air, the spacious patios are home to plush loungers and extra seating.
The room renovation also introduces ground-level Cabana King Rooms, which have an extended patio complete with sun loungers, tables, chairs, and views of the pool area. The Terrace Suites offer separate living and sleeping areas with king-sized beds and queen-sized sleeper sofas, each with its own private patio.

Later this year, Hotel Valley Ho plans to unveil additional redesigned rooms and all-new Executive Suites.
