Tis the season for holiday parties! Dress to impress this season with these men’s eveningwear trends from Suitsupply’s Vice President Nish de Gruiter.

Mixing and matching is a fun way to be festive, and most guys open up to the idea if they realize how easy it can be. Men attending more formal holiday parties for the first time pick up a tuxedo that they’ll also be able to wear to weddings and other celebrations like our Tuxedo Blue Plain (LOOK 1) with widened, silk-covered shawl collar and a natural shoulder cut from pure S110’s wool by Vitale Barberis Canonico or our Tuxedo Black Plain (LOOK 2) a classic black tie look with peak lapel and single silk-covered button.

For men who know that they’ll be invited to black tie events every year, I recommends a more aggressive approach. A cotton velvet red dinner jacket such as our Dinner Jacket Burgundy Plain (LOOK 3) or this vibrant amber Manhattan tuxedo jacket Tuxedo Jacket Yellow Plain (LOOK 4) will definitely make an impression.

The important thing is to allow small accents, like a Velvet Bow Tie or suspenders, to bring the outfit together—these details, for example, work well with one of my favorite looks for the holidays season, our off-white tuxedo jacket (LOOK 5). They’re understated touches that make it clear you’re taking the season, but not yourself, too serious.
