New at The Camby in Phoenix

A retreat in Phoenix‘s Biltmore District, The Camby hotel has completed a comprehensive interior renovation and introduced a sophisticated new dining experience, Yellowbell. Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of Arizona and the iconic Camelback Mountain (the hotel’s namesake), this reimagining celebrates the unique spirit of Phoenix.

An Autograph Collection hotel, the newly-renovated Camby hotel exudes a warm and welcoming ambiance. Every corner of the Phoenix retreat, including the lobby, corridors, and the hotel’s 279 guest rooms and 14 suites, has been thoughtfully redesigned.

These fresh changes were made while preserving The Camby’s signature architectural elements, such as crown molding and high ceilings while introducing contemporary touches. The updated design, featuring natural textures, lush greenery, and warm, muted tones, evokes a sense of relaxation and curiosity in guests. These carefully designed spaces offer a chic retreat for visitors, embracing both Arizona’s natural beauty and the urban flair of Phoenix.

“The Camby has always been about celebrating the spirit of Phoenix, and this renovation elevates that experience,” says Christine Menzel, general manager of The Camby, in a press release. “Our goal was to create a space that is as vibrant and diverse as the city itself, providing an atmosphere where guests can feel at home and inspired.”

Alongside the renovation, The Camby opened Yellowbell, its new signature restaurant. Named after a native flower, Yellowbell channels the warmth of its namesake through a menu showcasing the region’s indigenous ingredients. Executive Chef Alfredo Alvarez helms the new culinary haven, leading his team in crafting innovative dishes that highlight Southwestern flavors with a modern twist. The restaurant’s focus on local ingredients and refined cooking techniques creates an authentic and elevated dining experience.

“Yellowbell is not just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of our local culture and community,” says Chef Alvarez in a press release. “We’re excited to offer a new, memorable dining experience where both guests and locals can immerse themselves in the essence of Arizona.”

Yellowbell’s interior design echoes its culinary vision, melding the rugged Western charm of Arizona with contemporary sophistication. Earthy tones, natural materials, and local artwork set the stage for bold, flavorful dishes, with signature menu items including green chile cornbread, baked Oaxaca cheese, and sage-honey salmon. The restaurant is open daily, serving breakfast from 6 to 10:30 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and dinner from 5 to 10 p.m., with the bar open until midnight.

To drink, Yellowbell offers unique agave-based spirits with a curated selection of tequila, mezcal, and other regional favorites. Signature cocktails include inventive creations like the Chile Mule with St. George Green Chile Vodka and the mezcal-based I Need a Hot One.
