Restaurant of the Week: Kiss the Cook

Kiss the Cook restaurant is a family owned restaurant that opened in 1982 in Glendale and serves up made-from-scratch breakfast and lunch 7 days a week.

Kiss the Cook has a homey feel with antiques hanging from the walls and placed throughout the restaurant that are actually also for sale.

Their breakfast is a favorite for locals and out-of-towners, with many people making weekly or even daily visits part of their routines.

Some fan favorites for breakfast include the buttermilk pancakes, eggs Benedict with made-from-scratch hollandaise sauce, the fluffy omelets, and the pecan roll (worth every indulgent calorie).

Some of our favorite lunch items include the chicken salad – on a bed of greens, on top of a plate of fruit or in a sandwich, the grilled cheese (this is not your average grilled cheese!) and the turkey sandwich on a croissant.

They offer weekday lunch specials and weekend breakfast specials as well.

Kiss the Cook is open Monday – Friday 6am-3pm, Saturday 7am-2pm and Sunday 7am-1pm.
