Restaurant of the Week: Mowry & Cotton

Mowry & Cotton is the casual, yet sophisticated, restaurant located inside the award-winning Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale.


Mowry & Cotton has a modern-meets-Old-West aesthetic, serving regional, seasonally inspired American fare with a wide assortment of beer, wine and cocktails. The dining room has a comfortable and classy feel and the patio has beautiful views of the resort pool. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as brunch on the weekends with a live DJ.


To start your dinner, you must try the Buttermilk Buns with citrus sea salt butter and duck fat fig butter. The Veal & Black Garlic Meatballs with mozzarella, tomato jam, arugula, toast are a great appetizer choice as well. Both are pretty filling and delicious, so be sure to pace yourself.


For dinner entrees, there is a great selection of salads including their signature Mowry Chop Salad with avocado, corn, peppers, cotija, black currant, pheasant and mole. Seafood entrees include Mussels, Salmon, Charred Tuna, Grilled Shrimp and their signature seafood dish is the Whole Pacific Striped Bass. This is a very large dish and meant to be shared with the table. If you prefer some meat over seafood, you can get the signature Mowry’s Big Burger, Smoked Spare Ribs or Charred Hanger Steak.


If you managed to save room for dessert, nothing on the dessert menu will disappoint. Choose from Lemon Meringue, Warm S’mores Pie, Doughnuts and Apple Crumble.
