The Handlebar Tempe is a new modern American beer garden at Centerpoint on Mill near the ASU campus.
The Handlebar Tempe menu includes local bratwurst and sausages, hand-cut fries with house-made dipping sauces and pretzels.
The draft beer selection includes European beers, local beers and American craft beers; all hand-selected by the resident “beer geek”. There is also a full bar, beer cocktails and thirteen wine selections.
The décor combines rustic wood and brick, sleek lighting and white subway tile. Most of the furniture is custom made and the indoor/outdoor bar is 60 feet long. The huge outdoor patio feels like a city park with several tall, lighted trees, park benches, street lamps, and fire pits. The patio is surrounded with hooks where patrons can hang their bikes.
The Handlebar Tempe is intended to be a community hot spot for urban dwellers, local business people, Arizona State University students and faculty and bicyclists. Handlebar offers a late night menu, serving hot, fresh foods and refreshing beverages until 2:00 a.m. daily. The Handlebar Tempe will be open 3:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. every day until October 1, when it will change to 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 a.m. seven days a week.
