One of the many fabulous things about Arizona is that it is just a short drive to the beautiful Pacific Coast. Every November I make the 7 hour drive to Malibu from Scottsdale to run a half marathon and the 2017 Lexus RX 350 made the drive even easier and more comfortable.
Here are some of the features of the 2017 Lexus RX 350 that made the drive more enjoyable, comfortable and safe:
1. Enhanced Power The fourth-generation Lexus RX 350 debuted its most powerful V6 engine ever with 295 hp and 268 lb.-ft. of torque. The drive mode select allowed me to select the Eco option to save on gas, but when I was ready to have some fun, I could switch to the Sport+ mode for extra speed. I love this versatility because it allows the vehicle to be gas-efficient when needed, but can be super fast if you’re wanting to put the pedal to the metal (which I certainly like to do!).
2. Sway Warning System
The Lexus Safety System+ is now standard on all 2017 models and one of the features included in that package is the Sway Warning System that is incorporated in the Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist system. If the system detects unintentional lane departure, it will sound an audible alert and display a visual warning (steaming coffee cup that says “take a break.” While driving through the hills of California, this alert went off several times. While the alert was not necessary in this instance, I thought it was very clever for a road trip. If you are getting sleepy behind the wheel on a long road trip, this alert could be life saving.
3. Premium Surround Sound Audio
Am optional package that I really enjoyed in this vehicle is the 15-speaker Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound Audio System. Great music to jam out to on a road trip is practically a necessity. The Advanced Clari-Fi™ compressed music restoration technology breathes new life into digital music files.
