Sensory Room to Open at Chase Field

The Arizona Diamondbacks teams up with Roman Empire Agency to make Chase Field a more inclusive environment for fans with sensory sensitivities. New for the 2025 MLB season, the Phoenix ballpark now features a sensory room, offering a calming space for guests who may feel overwhelmed by the excitement and noise of a live baseball game.

Located on the Diamond Level in the left field, the sensory room is thoughtfully designed with soundproofing, interactive sensory toys, comfortable seating, and trained staff to assist families and individuals. Guests who prefer to remain in their seats can also request fidget toys and noise-cancelling headphones.

The sensory room was designed by Roman Empire Agency founder Gabriela Salcido and her husband, Anthony, building on the success of their first sensory room that launched at State Farm Stadium in 2024. The project is also supported by Kulture City, a nonprofit recognized for creating sensory-friendly spaces nationwide.

“We are thrilled to bring this important initiative to Chase Field, expanding access for families and fans who have sensory processing needs,” says Salcido, founder of Roman Empire Agency, in a press release. “The sensory room at State Farm Stadium has received incredible feedback, and we are excited to partner with the Arizona Diamondbacks to ensure fans at Chase Field can enjoy a similar experience while cheering on their favorite team.”

The room officially debuted during the Diamondbacks’ Autism Awareness Night, part of Autism Awareness Month, creating a meaningful way to celebrate the room’s opening.

“We are thrilled to allow more fans to experience the magic of attending a Diamondbacks baseball game with the launch of our sensory room in partnership with Roman Empire Agency,” says Derrick Hall, President, CEO and general partner of the Arizona Diamondbacks, in a recent press release. “What makes the occasion even more special is that we get to open this new room during Autism Awareness Month and our own Autism Awareness Night, further emphasizing the importance of our commitment to being a safe, accommodating ballpark for everyone.”

This collaboration reflects a growing movement in professional sports to create spaces that prioritize accessibility and inclusion. For the Roman Empire Agency, the new Chase Field room marks another milestone in their mission to make large-scale events more welcoming for all. “Everyone deserves a chance to enjoy a game or an event, no matter their sensory processing needs,” says Salcido, in a press release. “We are honored to make that a reality.”
