Summer Trends: The Maxi Dress Is Back

Fashion guru and Marketing Director for Scottsdale Quarter, Alison Goodman, shared some of her top picks at Scottsdale Quarter for a hot summer trend, the maxi dress.

Carole's-Blue-Maxi

What I love most about this gorgeous blue number from Carole’s Couture (aside from its regal color, which we’re seeing everywhere this summer!) is its versatility. Shown here with a long, oversized pendant necklace, it can easily be dressed up with a pair of metallic double-strap flat sandals for a date night out. Remove the necklace, add a few gold bangles and a pair of leather flip flops and you have the perfect daytime “brunch with the girls” look.

H-&-M-Leopard-Maxi

Hear that? It’s the sound of an H & M maxi dress getting a heavy dose of sexy. Leopard print is not for the fashion faint of heart and when it’s maxi-fied, it’s a statement to be noticed. Put your best foot forward in this bold print, but be sure to reserve this look for day. Add a pair of black leather strappy gladiator sandals to dash around in on the weekends; its midi length makes it perfect to show off a fun pair of kicks.

CALYPSO-Maxi

Ready to channel your inner J.Lo? This CALYPSO St. Barth look has “on a yacht in St. Tropez” written all over it. Flowy sleeves and a looser fit make this silk number perfect for hot weather wearing and for your next dressy summer nighttime engagement. A deep V in the front is perfect for flaunting decolletage and a deep V in the back is the most interesting of twists. He’ll hate to see you go, but love watching you walk away.

Ruby-Yellow-Maxi

Where do I start when it comes to this yellow maxi dress from Ruby Boutique? Trend #1: it’s sheer, which makes it the perfect maxi dress for the hot Arizona summer; no heavy fabric slowing you down or sweating you out. Trend #2: yellow that’s subtle enough for almost every skin tone. Trend #3: shorts! Little shorts underneath this frock amp it up to the next level: there’s no telling where this dress will take you. Trust me: this maxi is IT.
