Arizona’s First Grand Hyatt Hotel to Open in October

Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch is set to become Arizona’s first Grand Hyatt hotel after undergoing a transformative renovation that will revitalize its accommodations, pools, suites, and dining concepts (including six new culinary concepts from Chef Richard Blais).

After undergoing an extensive, $115-million property-wide renovation, Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch will reopen as Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort in early October, marking the first Grand Hyatt hotel in Arizona. The newly reimagined Scottsdale resort invites guests to connect with the spirit of the American Southwest through its six elevated dining concepts by celebrity chef Richard Blais, refreshed pool and spa offerings, expansive accommodations, and more.

“Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort will stand out in the region for its rich amenities, captivating design, incredible new ballroom space and delectable culinary offerings,” says Lance Marrin, general manager, in a press release. “We are creating a destination that will not only reflect the region’s rich heritage but will also provide our guests with an immersive, elevated experience that connects them to the illuminating essence of the Sonoran Desert. “

The resort’s design, brought to life by the renowned international architectural firm WATG and Phoenix-based Hale Collective, melds the natural beauty of the Sonoran Desert with its sophisticated architecture. The setting overlooks the expanse of mountain vistas and houses 496 fully-renovated accommodations, including 18 luxury casitas and the ultra-luxe, two-story Gainey House, which features a private entrance, driveway, a secluded patio with a barbecue, and stunning pool views.

Guests will have a variety of room types to choose from, ranging from residential-style luxury casitas to king- and queen-bed accommodations. Every guest room is designed with a multi-purpose living space, a spa-inspired bathroom, and a private balcony or patio. Ideal for larger groups, the casitas feature separate living spaces for gatherings, including fully equipped kitchens and dual bathrooms.

This October, the resort will also unveil four new dining concepts: La Zozzona, a modern Italian chophouse; Tiki Taka, a globally-inspired restaurant; Mesa Centrale, a Southwestern grill; and Grand Vista Lounge, the lobby bar. These new dining experiences, along with the already-introduced poolside venues Sandbar and H2Oasis, are led by acclaimed chef and James Beard-nominated cookbook author Blais. Blais graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and refined his culinary skills in some of the world’s most prestigious kitchens, including The French Laundry, Daniel, Chez Panisse, and El Bulli. He currently co-stars with Gordon Ramsay on FOX’s hit cooking show, Next Level Chef.

The 2.5-acre aquatic wonderland features 10 unique swimming pools and a pristine sand beach. The focal point of the complex is a thrilling three-story, high-speed waterslide, and a serene whirlpool spa. A beachside putting green is also available for guests looking for additional poolside activities.

The newly refreshed Spa Avania introduces the first wellness experience designed to align with the body’s natural rhythms. New treatments include Cryo Sculpt Facials, Desert Essence Wraps, CBD Trigger Point Therapy Massage, and more.
