Oatman
Many old western towns have been commercialized over the years to fit the needs of travelers, but somehow, Oatman has always remained the same and stayed true to its roots. The small town located in the Black Mountains of Mohave County, is known for its authentic western flair, rich mining history, and community of wild burros that freely roam the village. Wigwam Motel
Holbrook’s Wigwam Motel was built in 1950 and features 15 wigwams—though don’t be fooled by the simple exterior, these historic dwellings can actually sleep four guests, feature a flat screen TV and a private bathroom. Standin’ on the Corner Park
In the 1972 hit, “Take It Easy,” The Eagles sang about “…standin’ on a corner in Winslow, Arizona.” And that vision was quite literally erected in the form of a small park at N. Kingsley Ave. in the small, northern town of Winslow. Visitors can snap a photo in front of the corresponding mural or pose alongside the bronze statue of Glenn Frey of The Eagles. In 1953, Juan Delgadillo built the Snow Cap Drive-In in Seligman from scrap lumber. Over 50 years later, his small Route 66 business is still known worldwide for its eclectic decor and ambience, delicious American fare menu, and its general reputation for never taking itself too seriously. Hackberry General Store
One of the best aspects of going on a road trip is getting the chance to stock up on souvenirs and memorabilia.
