Coffee, Kids and Canvas

Families who adopt a furry family member on Saturday, March 19th from Friends for Life Animal Rescue, might receive a handmade and heartfelt gift, courtesy of a local business owner and some artistically eager students. Friends for Life is a registered, non-profit, no-kill shelter located in Gilbert.

When Jason Cvancara learned that fifteen students who signed up for an art class that was canceled due to low enrollment, he invited them to hone their artistic skills by drawing an image of a Friends for Life rescue animal of their choice, that is currently up for adoption. The students will be on-site at Friends for Life drawing their images between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. The shelter officially opens at 10 a.m. for adoptions. The canvas drawings will then be given as an additional gift to the adopting family. Michael’s graciously donated 15 8×8 canvases and 72 colored pencils for the students.

Complimentary Zona coffee and donuts will be available for a limited time during this event.
