En Pointe: High Tea & Couture Reimaged
April 26
$150.00
Join Ballet Arizona and FABRIC in an innovative, one-of-a-kind fashion show celebrating ballet and high fashion on April 26 at a private residence in Paradise Valley. The local nonprofits have teamed up to create a collaborative high-tea themed fundraiser benefiting the two organizations that will feature an afternoon of elegance, innovation, and sustainability during Eco Fashion Week.
Ten fashion designers from FABRIC’s community will reimagine costumes donated from the Ballet Arizona archive by upcycling them into couture pieces. To assist in the creation of the designs, FABRIC is donating three yards of fabric from its stock of material that was used to produce 800,000 reusable medical gowns during the pandemic.
FABRIC’s designers will additionally have the chance to create custom prints to complement the assigned costume using FABRIC’s eco-friendly textile printer. The results will exemplify the beauty of the arts (dance and fashion), as well as the ingenuity of the designers.
This event presented by Ballet Arizona’s Contemporary Council, Ballet Arizona’s junior board, and FABRIC is co-chaired by Lindsay Danto-BenAviv, a member of Ballet Arizona’s Contemporary Council, and Angela Johnson, the co-founder of FABRIC. Contemporary Council cultivates a new generation of patrons through creative fundraising, events, and volunteering.
The En Pointe fashion show and fundraiser will be held on Sat., April 26 from 2 to 5:30 p.m. at a private residence in Paradise Valley. Attendees will enjoy a handcrafted high-tea menu by chef Smail Yaakoubi, while experiencing a salon-style fashion show featuring 10 upcycled garments by local designers using costumes from Ballet Arizona’s archives.
General admission tickets are $150 and VIP tickets are $275. There is a limited quantity of VIP tickets available. These provide early access for shopping of designer collections (proceeds of this shopping experience will support the designers), two drink tickets, custom swag tote bags, and more.
Ballet Arizona’s Contemporary Council was formed by young leaders in Phoenix who and believe that one performance can change lives. The Council supports Ballet Arizona to foster the growth of a new generation of patrons of the ballet through creative fundraising, education, volunteering, and awareness.
