Friends of Africa International Charity Event at el Pedregal

The Friends of Africa International Charity Event, benefitting Northwestern Kenya’s “Pokot School Project, Learning for Peace,” will take place at el Pedregal Shops and Dining at the Boulders in Scottsdale on Saturday, April 9, 5:30 – 10:00 p.m.


On Saturday evening, guests are invited to a gala under the stars, all the while, supporting an African tribe in need for the “Pokot School Project” in Kenya. The black tie event, emceed by former KTVK TV 3 broadcaster, Brad Perry, will include live entertainment by the Phoenix Symphony, and a candlelight three course meal by the famed culinary team at the Boulders Resort. Sponsored by AZ Green Magazine, Biltmore Pro Print, The Biltmore Resort, the Boulders Resort, James & Bonnie Bishop, Chris Aire, The Christmas B Boutique, Cottar’s 1920 Camp, Don Young Safaris, Spotted Donkey Cantina, Starbucks, the W Scottsdale, David Yurman and Zuva Gallery, this event will also include a silent auction with Auctioneer Letitia Frye.

An award ceremony will be held honoring six outstanding individuals who have contributed their time and efforts for humanity. Those include Larry Fitzgerald from the Arizona Cardinals, Mike Davis from the Oakland Raiders, Betsy King from the LPGA Hall of Fame, Chris Aire, “Jeweler to the Stars;” Lynn Toler, Judge on Divorce Court; and Kristine Hudlund from the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Guests of honor will include Larry Fitzgerald from the Arizona Cardinals; Scarlett Adams, Founder of FOAI; Photographer and Author, Carol Beckwith; 1920’s Camp, Calvin and Louise Cottar; Photographer and Author, Angela Fisher; National Geographic Filmmaker, Kire Godal; and Don Young Safaris, Don Young.

Tickets are $125 per person.
