Microchip-a-thon

Friends for Life will once again be hosting its annual microchip-a-thon on Saturday, May 14, from 9 a.m. to noon at its adoption center in Gilbert. Not only will Friends for Life be offering a free microchip for any cat or dog who needs one, but they will also be offering free DHPP vaccines for any dog who needs one.

DHPP is the vaccine for canine distemper, which is highly contagious and causes death in 50 percent of adult dogs and 80 percent of puppies. According to Friends for Life, those who do survive often have neurological conditions. The event is sponsored by Camp Bow Wow Mesa.
