PHAT Scooters Opens PHAT Lounge
July 31 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am
The gentle hum of electric scooters will ring through Scottsdale Fashion Square on the morning of this Saturday, July 31, as PHAT Scooters, the Phoenix-based manufacturer of recreational and commercial electric scooters co-founded by a former Olympian Peter Johnson, marks the grand opening of its PHAT Lounge in the newly renovated luxury wing at the exterior of the shopping center.
PHAT Scooters has put the call out for up to 25 riders to represent countries participating in the Tokyo Games to cruise through the mall departing from the PHAT Lounge, located next to Zinqué in the new luxury wing’s drive-up rotunda, at 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 31.
Each scooter will have a flag posted representing one nation participating in the 2020 Games. The parade will drive through the mall to the Macy’s wing before looping back to the PHAT Lounge. A specially created LED torch will be driven on the final scooter and will light an LED cauldron signifying the official opening of the PHAT Lounge.
Aspiring riders wishing to ride a scooter are invited to register, sign a waiver and test ride at the PHAT Lounge through Friday, July 30, at noon. Registration in advance is required to participate.
Shoppers are invited to join the parade by following the scooters to the PHAT Lounge, where they will not only have a chance to see the hottest new mode of electric transportation, but also enjoy complimentary popcorn, candy and free medals for children.
Additionally, all attendees and shoppers alike will have the chance to enter to win their very own All-American custom designed PHAT Scooter to take home. Lastly, attendees will have the chance to view a custom Olympic-themed PHAT Scooter that’s been signed by nine Olympians including Charles Barkley, Mardy Fish, Canelo Alvarez, Ray Allen, Vince Carter, Al Michaels, TJ Oshie, Joe Pavelski and Annika Sorenstam.
