Sacred Arts of Tibet Tour

May 7 @ 6:30 pm

Geshe Phuntso & Monks Momo Prep

From May 7 to May 26, the Sacred Arts of Tibet Tour brings the esteemed Tibetan monks of the historic Gaden Shartse Monastery to Phoenix for nearly three weeks of transformative public events, healing rituals, and immersive cultural experiences.

This tour offers an authentic encounter with Tibetan Buddhist teachings and sacred traditions that have been passed down for centuries. The monks will construct a Medicine Buddha sand mandala over five days, a painstakingly detailed work of art made from millions of grains of sand, symbolizing healing and the impermanence of life. Visitors can witness its opening ceremony, engage in daily meditations, and attend empowering teachings on compassion, karma, and liberation.

The tour will include:

· Meditation with the Monks

· Sand Mandala ceremonies and viewing (Opening: May 7 | Closing: May 26)

· Empowerments including Green Tara, Amitabha, and Medicine Buddha

· Dharma Teachings on karma, rebirth, kindness and compassion

· Personal healings, spiritual consultations and divination sessions

· Sacred arts workshops in Tibetan calligraphy and prayer flag creation

· A community Momo dinner and film night

Events take place at various venues across metro Phoenix, including the Self-Arising Nature Center (SAN Center), The Shrine of Holy Wisdom, and Shanti Sound. Proceeds support the monks and their monastery in South India, which is home to over 1,500 monks.
