Arizonans of all ages are invited to commemorate Halloween and Dia de los Muertos this Friday, Oct. 29, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Cancer Support Community Arizona’s (CSCAZ’s) annual Trunk or Treat and Day of the Dead celebration at its historic main campus at 360 E. Palm Lane in Phoenix.

The safe and fun-filled evening, which will be held outdoors, is free and open to the public. Arizonans of all ages are invited to come dressed in their Halloween costumes and compete for prizes while enjoying a Trunk or Treat “walk-thru” experience featuring plenty of treats for hungry trick-or-treaters.

In addition to the Halloween costume contest, attendees will enjoy exploring an incredible display of pumpkin masterpieces. Anyone wishing to participate in the Pumpkin Decorating Contest can drop off their fully designed pumpkin at the CSCAZ office (360 E. Palm Lane in Phoenix) now through Thursday, Oct. 28 to have their pumpkin entered into the contest and exhibited at Friday’s Trunk or Treat event.

During the event, CSCAZ will also present an altar in honor of Dia de los Muertos, a holiday that reunites the living and dead.

There is no cost to attend the Trunk or Treat event or to participate in the contest. Those interested in attending must RSVP so that candy and prizes can be accounted for – this will also ensure a socially distanced outdoor event.

The Phoenix Police Department’s ice cream truck will be there to hand out ice cream. Amazon, American Cancer Society’s Latinas Contra Cancer, and United HealthCare plus will be there to help hand out candy.
