Hometown: Phoenix, AZ

First job: My first job was working in my Mom’s office after school filing paper work. Well, I guess technically my first job was working at a snack bar at a local sports venue, but I only lasted a few days. Getting nachos and filling beer pitchers can be very stressful!

Favorite AZ restaurant: The Daily Dose Midtown! I love their breakfast! The best part of my weekend is enjoying a great breakfast and some coffee with family and friends.

Person who has impacted your life the most: My grandmother (Jo Jo) was the most influential person in my life. She had an incredible work ethic that always stemmed from taking care of her five sons as a single parent. She has taught me so much, but above all she taught me how to be strong and independent.

Your biggest accomplishment in your eyes: My biggest accomplishment has come about this year with launching the Go Gold campaign for Childhood Cancer Awareness at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. About a year ago, I had sat down with my Director to talk about new ideas to fundraise for the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. There was an incredible opportunity around the month of September that nationally recognizes Childhood Cancer. Today we have several local corporate partners and individuals that will be rallying around the cause this September. After all the hard work that my team and I have put into this campaign it is finally becoming a reality! The most rewarding part is getting to know the patients and their families at the hospital that will be affected by the results of this campaign.

The biggest obstacle you have overcome: The loss of my grandmother last year.

Someone who inspires you: The patients and families at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. The kids at the hospital are so resilient! They go through so much, but continue to have a smile on their face.

Favorite quote: “Life moves pretty fast, if you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” Ferris Buller (Great movie!)

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: One thing that I have learned in this career is that it’s sometimes not as glamourous as one would think; however working for an incredible mission like Phoenix Children’s Hospital will always carry you through. Be willing to put in the work, and it will pay you back tenfold.

What makes someone fabulous: Someone who has integrity, humility, and a fabulous sense of humor!
