Learn more about this beautiful and inspiring 24-year-old…

Hometown: Originally from Kaysville, Utah I am currently located in Scottsdale, AZ

First job: My first job was at Hollister. I worked there for a few years. It was a great first job but I am so thankful to be in another industry and doing something that I am passionate about!

Favorite AZ restaurant: My favorite restaurant would have to be Farm & Craft. It is a healthy, fast casual restaurant located in Old Town right near my gym. I love all of their salad options and healthy bowl options.

Person who has impacted your life the most: My boyfriend, Dustin Gray. I know that seems really cheesy to say but its true. He is the one that helped me take the plunge from a full time desk job to full time training. He motivates and encourages me daily. He is the reason that I have all of my valuable certifications and the reason that I was able to start my own business. He is also a trainer, so he understands the dedication that is required to be in this industry. There are so many people that have impacted my life in a positive way, but he is there day in and day out for all of the good and all of the bad. I wouldnā€™t be nearly as successful if it werenā€™t for him!

Your biggest accomplishment in your eyes: My biggest accomplishment was when I moved to Arizona all on my own to pursue a career in dance. I had just made the Phoenix Suns Dancers, but that is all that I had. No other job, no place to live and no money. I was literally living on a prayer! It was the scariest most thrilling experience of my life. I am so thankful that I had the courage to do it because it changed my entire life. I would not be doing what I am doing now if I didnā€™t take that leap of faith and make the move. I have had other important accomplishments that have put me where I am today, but that was by far the most impactful.

The biggest obstacle you have overcome: Making the decision to stop dancing and pursue a career in fitness. It was more of an obstacle that I had created for myself, but it was, and still is, one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make. I was deciding if I wanted to give up something that I had done for 20 years, for something I had no experience in. It was a huge obstacle for me to get past, but again, if I wouldnā€™t have had that courage to make that change I would not be doing what I am doing now.

Someone who inspires you: Nikki Metzger! She is my mentor and boss and I owe a lot to her. She took a chance on me and helped teach me everything I know.

Favorite quote: ā€œAnd at the end of the day, your feet should be dirty, your hair messy and your eyes sparkling.ā€ -Shanti

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Intern and shadow someone! Books and certifications can only teach you so much. Yes, they are necessary but the most valuable things I have learned have come from my mentor and on the job experience.

What makes someone fabulous: knowing exactly who they are and rocking it in every single way!
