First job: Alphabet Toy Store! At age 15. I started out as a cashier working weekends and quickly started helping with the buying! After all, I was a kid and knew what people would want.
Favorite AZ restaurant: Tee Pee Mexican Food. I still go back whenever I am in town. Something about their cheese crisp. I also worked there in college. Oh and their margaritas are tasty too.
Person who has impacted your life the most: So many people! I would have to say my husband Theo. He believed in me. Still does.
Your biggest accomplishment in your eyes: Getting out and following my passion. I have always believed that the best ideas are started by people who see problems and the best companies are started by those who know how to solve them. Hint is just that. I created hint to get myself off of diet soda. I hated the taste of plain water so I added fruit to mine and decided to make a company out of this idea. It ends up that others hate drinking plain water too.
The biggest obstacle you have overcome: I would say my biggest obstacle is my biggest accomplishment. Starting and growing hint®. The beverage industry is the most competitive category to play in. And because we not only started a new category of unsweetened flavored still water, we had to educate consumers and grocery buyers on why they should want to buy it. It’s been tough at times but we are breaking through as consumers recognize that the best, healthiest people are not drinking soda or diet soda. We help people drink water, the best drink for all.
Someone who inspires you: Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Her ferocious independence. All she has done for women’s rights.
