First job: I worked in a department store for my first job as a Makeup Artist. I stayed in retail for many years and soon ventured into freelancing for myself in 2015. After working with all well known agencies in Arizona I relocated to Los Angeles in 2018. I assisted celebrity and credible artists for multiple years until I built my own personal clientele.
Favorite AZ restaurant: Blanco Tacos! This is my first stop every time I visit home! They have an amazing Strawberry Margarita and their tacos are delicious!
Person who has impacted your life the most: I would have to say Bobbi Brown. Her come up is very similar to mine and I admire her work ethic and the vision behind her brand. She was a makeup artist first before creating her brand that is now very well known across the world. While starting my brand, I constantly found myself listening to interviews she has done and would pay close attention. Listening to her gave me confidence and reassured me that my brand could be as successful as hers one day. She has a wonderful interview with Gary Vaynerchuk that I suggest listening to!
Your biggest accomplishment in your eyes: Definitely the release of the first Jaclyn Taylor Cosmetics eyeshadow palette this year. It took about two years to perfect our formula. I was determined to bring the best eyeshadow product to the market! We collaborated with trendy online clothing boutique Nanamacs to do this and it has been the most positive and fun experience of my life. We are quickly expanding our products and we can’t wait for 2020!
The biggest obstacle you have overcome: Relocating! I moved to Los Angeles alone in 2018 to pursue my career as a makeup artist. Leaving my family, friends and clients in Arizona was so hard, but it was the best decision I’ve ever made! I was discouraged many times and wanted to quit, but always kept a positive attitude. I knew that it would all be worth it and now looking back I am very proud of myself. Our products are also manufactured in Los Angeles and being here is great, because it allows me to be so hands on with my brand!
Someone who inspires you: Anastasia of Anastasia of Beverly Hills. When all odds are against you and you still make your dreams happen, that’s what Anastasia did. She came from a different country with nothing to America. She’s my inspiration. She was determined to be known for the best eyebrows in America and now has a successful makeup line with their most popular products being for brows. I was fortunate enough to see her speak this year and it was incredible. I’ve experienced many bumps in the road while building this brand and I am reminded of powerful women like Anastasia who motivate me to keep going.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Get use to hearing the word, “NO”. Every no you get told leads you closer to a yes. You have to believe in yourself more than anyone else!
What you think makes someone fabulous: Someone who truly cares about others well being. If your intentions are always pure and genuine I believe that is what makes someone fabulous. The industry that I am in can be very cut throat and intimidating. There can be a lot of expectations and unfortunately some of us feel a pressure to change. Be true to who you are. You are fabulous and do not let anyone tell you any different.
