Hometown:Ā
Gilbert, ArizonaĀ

First job:Ā My first job was as a hostess at a restaurant just down the street from my parent’s house. The only real memories I have are the horrendous black slip-proof shoes we had to wear and cleaning off the nasty, food-covered menus! I was excited to make money to pay for gas, but I hated it when the restaurant was slow. I’d rather be busy than bored–and that hasn’t changed since.

Favorite ways to spend your free time in Arizona:Ā My free time is spent with my family (my husband and two girls, who are one and three years old). When the weather is nice, we love to go to local parks and splash pads. We also spend most weekend nights at one of our favorite restaurants in Downtown Gilbert. Postino, Culinary Dropout and Joyride are our go-tos. During the summers, we spend a lot of our time at our family cabin in northern Arizona.Ā

Person who has impacted your life most and why:Ā This is such a hard question! I have mentors from all different seasons of my life, besides the supporting role both my parents have always played in my life.

Your biggest accomplishment in your eyes and why:Ā Professionally, my biggest accomplishment was the day I took the leap into entrepreneurship. It was a dream of mine for a long time but I made a plan, worked hard and was finally able to pursue my passion. That first day working at home for myself felt surreal! It took a lot of work to get to that point: working on my business at night, investing in training and personal development, and saving up financially. I’ll never forget that day!

The biggest obstacle you have overcome:Ā One of the most trying times in my life was learning how to juggle motherhood, my career, a side hustle and friends. I am type-A so my reaction was to plan everything out, automate where I could, and be as efficient as possible. Some days it worked, but some days it all fell apart. I love routine and that just isn’t the case with motherhood some times. Learning to be more flexible and navigate around changes has become my superpower!Ā

Someone who inspires you and why:Ā I am so inspired by female entrepreneurs. I have a picture of Jaclyn Johnson, the creator of Create & Cultivate, on my vision board. I am in awe of the empire she has created, and more importantly, the community of amazing women she brings together. I attended one of her events years back, and I left feeling invigorated and inspired, and with a new set of best friends. That type of connection is so important to me. When women come together to support each other, we are unstoppable.Ā

Favorite quote:Ā “It’s not about winning. The idea is that we both make it.”

Advice to someone pursuing a path in what you do:Ā I have three main pieces of advice:Ā 1) Execution over perfection. If you’re like me, you want everything to be perfect. But don’t let that be an excuse. I created my first website and email list all from googling how to do it. Just get started and the rest will come.Ā 2) Ask for help. People want to help you! Let them know how they can best support you. Eventually, this also leads to delegating out tasks to those who are skilled so you can focus on your Zone of Genius.Ā 3) Stay in business. It’s really easy to give up. But if you keep the right people around you to support when you feel lost, you will always push through those tough times.Ā

What makes someone fabulous:Ā Compassion. It’s not about you, it’s about those you serve.Ā Ā
