A female leader in a typically male-dominated industry, Sarah Jennings is the chief operating officer of QuickPass, a software access control company based in the Valley. Learn about Sarah Jennings…
First job: I worked in the gift shops at Loews Ventana Canyon while in college.
Favorite ways to spend your free time in Arizona: At the spa!
Your biggest accomplishment and why: Taking over QuickPass six years ago. I had no idea that managing people and the day-to-day operation of a company would be so emotionally challenging. Luckily, I have great staff who stuck by me and accepted all of the mistakes we have made along the way.
The biggest obstacle you overcame: I am still overcoming it daily, but being a younger female in a man’s world. We deal with mostly homeowner’s associations, whose boards are very male-dominated and have held higher leadership positions. My intelligence and authority is constantly questioned!
Someone who inspires you and why: This is probably not a popular answer, but Donald Trump. He talks about the unpopular and does not care what anyone thinks of him. I wish I made decisions without the fear of being judged more.
Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Never give up and don’t be afraid to cry when you need to.
Favorite quote: “If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it.”
Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: That it takes me awhile to be done with someone/something but, when I am, it’s over.
What makes someone fabulous: We are all fabulous in our own right!
