Hometown: Peoria, IL

First job: Construction. My father was a flooring subcontractor, and I work on commercial flooring installations.

Favorite ways to spend your free time in AZ: Spring training games, patio dining and playing as much tennis as possible with the best of friends.

Your biggest accomplishment and why: Writing, directing, producing, editing, scoring and starring in my first feature film. During this process, I learned more than I ever imagined possible, not just about film making but also about people and myself.

The biggest obstacle you overcame: I am and have certainly been my biggest obstacle. Maybe that’s the case for a lot of people but coming to grips with your own faults, imperfections, shortcomings and mistakes is a necessity for personal and professional growth.

Someone who inspires you and why: I’m inspired by Elon Musk. He continually tries new things whether he knows what he’s doing or not. He just figures it out and goes for it. I admire his tenacity. He seems to have no fear of failure and no expectation of if either.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Surround yourself with the best people you can find. Good hearts, good minds. Then trust them to do their part and be as incredible at yours as you can.

Favorite quote: “There are some things I know and some things I don’t, Butchie.” –John from Cincinnati

Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: I have released three CDs of my own original music. “Caesar Bach,” “Alright Already” and “A Muse Zing” all available to listen to for free on my website 24/7 (OttoD.com).

What makes someone fabulous: No matter where we go or who we meet, we make an impression or leave a mark. You are fabulous to me if when you leave a room, everyone looks forward to your return.
