Hometown: I was born in New Jersey and moved to the Valley when I was 9 years old.

The biggest obstacle you overcame: After completing residency, that’s when the hard work really begun. It starts with establishing a good reputation, a patient base, trust and this only happens when you produce great results for my patients. How to run a business is not taught in medical school; learning and gaining business knowledge and having a commitment to continuing education is part of a balance that takes time to adjust to.

Someone who inspires you and why: My parents inspire me. They showed me the importance of how to treat people with kindness and respect. They taught me to give every challenge 100 percent of my effort and continue to inspire and motivate me as a surgeon, husband and father.

Favorite quote: Hippocratic Oath: One of the oldest binding documents in history: to treat the ill to the best of one’s ability, to preserve a patient’s privacy, to teach the secrets of medicine to the next generation, and so on.

Advice to someone pursuing a career path in what you do: Study hard, know your limits, stay healthy physically and mentally, overcome those limits by increasing your knowledge. Strive to give your patients the best, safest, honest and superior experience.

Something someone would be surprised to learn about you: I am a first-generation American. My parents migrated from Italy when they were teenagers. I’m also the only member of my family to have a medical degree, despite having over 50 first cousins.

What makes someone fabulous: To treat people with respect and kindness, make family a priority and be passionate about what you do. Then do everything in your power to implement and live by it.
